Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 10% comedy,100% action,10,000% awesome!
Hello, true beliver! This is the best comic -to-movie production ever!It is kid-friendly,execpt for the violent ending, which consists of minor blood. You want to know how much?Okay.(By the way, this review has details on the violence,so I wouldn't recommend little 6 year olds to be reading this.)Right after he saves Mary Jane Watson and a cable car full of kids,Spider man is jerked away to a dark and abandoned area. The green goblin drops S.m. towards sharp rocks.Luckily,S.m. swings away from them.He crashes through a window and drops to the ground, only to be hit by one of the goblin's grenades.Spidey, exausted, can't jump away fast enough. The explosion blows apart his mask, injures him and blows him through a wall. Then the goblin starts beating the crud out of spidey.Finally,s.m. has the strength to overcome. He punches Gobbie backwards. The Goblin slams into a wall.Spidey brings the wall down on him.The goblin climbs out, dusty and shaky. Then Spidey begins beating the crud out of Goblin. Then finally the goblin removes his mask and begins jabbering to Peter. Then the Goblin is killed by his glider.Cool movie, huh?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Spider-Man: Easy to Get Caught In His Web
This is a well-done action flick of a movie, and I've always liked Tobey McGuire since I saw him in the movie ``Pleasantville''...also like Kirsten Dunst in this movie, but not so sure about Willem Dafoe as the bad guy or the character who played his son. I recommend people give this movie a try, and certainly they won't be disappointed at the prices it's selling for now.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Ilove it!
I am a huge fan of Spiderman and this movie did not let me down! In fact I love it! The cast was great and the action was perfect! I finally have the DVD and it rocks! I especially like Tobey's screen test footage in the special features and the comic book art gallery!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Better than I thought, Good overall Comic-based movie....
I'm not the Super-hero movie type but I love the Superman movies ( at least 1 & 2 ) and I also had an interest in Spiderman so I gave this film a shot.

Well, it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The characters were cast fairly well with Tobey McGuire being the possible only question mark. Willem Dafoe is solid as the Goblin and the rest of the cast does their parts pretty well. I like the build-up of the Spiderman story and how things came about. The film was paced decently and didnt rush into anything too quickly or drag on too slowly. The action scenes were OK, nothing great but I've seen worse. The CGI was acceptable but the transitions from CGI to Live action were a little hacked up. Basically, the special effects were borderline acceptable but this didnt hurt the film too much.

I did enjoy the story development and the characters did progress enough to keep it interesting. Of course the ending was setup for the next film. As others have said, the ending was not the best.... oh well.... nothing is perfect.

Despite a few scenes with some violence it is kid-friendly as well and the reviewers that trash the film need to understand that a PG-13 film needs to fall within certain criteria and they simply cannot go overboard with violence or sex stuff. The action scenes are softer than some other films and the bad guys are not geniuses either. Again, its PG-13 follks... go watch some R-rated bloodfest if thats your desire.

I would have preferred 3.5 stars but gave a it a 4 just because films like this are NOT easy to do well since there are so many "bombs" out there. Overall, this is well acted, well executed, and keeps you interested which is pretty good for Comic Book movies that usually are awful ( Hulk, Batman ).

So go ahead and watch it, maybe even buy it if you're into the genre.

Recommended!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It's Just Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man
It was in the summer of 2002, when The Web-Slinger finally hit the big screen. Toby Maguire asumed the role of the web-head and portarys Spidey truly. The beautiful and talented Kirsten Dunst also steps up for the film and she takes on the role of Mary Jane Watson. Director Sam Rami, a fan of the comics, keeps the story and details of Spidey's world as true as one can with today's technology. When Peter Parker is bitten by a geneticly enchanced super-spider, he receives more than just a painful infected bite. The once skinny photographer wakes up a morning after the incident, and soon realizes that he has developed more than just bigger muscles, and better vision. In the next few days, Parker discovers what new abilites he has been given and how they will help him change the world. Except, his quest for good is soon disrupted when the existance of The Green Goblin is finally revealed at a public gathering of Oscorp associates and family members in downtown New York. Parker comes to the conclusion that it is up to him and his alter-ego to stop the hostile menace in order to protect the ones he loves. But, the duration of the battle and its grand finale between the duo may be too much for the young Peter Parker to handle.
