This movie is so ridiculous with so many unbelievable scenes that the only enjoyable aspect is laughing at how ridiculous it is. Based on the overall reviews I was expecting something a little more entertaining. Rosalee goes from taking her retainer out on her big date with Tad and placing it right at the table like a gawky 12 year old (she's 22 so she's a little old for retainers) to offering sage wise commentary with the next breath. Likewise, Tad is very polite and agreeable when Rosalee's buddy Pete busts in on him on the toilet in a restaurant and just sits there smiling while Pete lectures him. You can predict the rest of the plot from this point.

Okay, this movie was a little whack at times. Such as when Josh decides to buy a farm in West Virginia after knowing Kate for a few days. C'mon now. How real is that? HOWEVER, this movie is endearing. You cannot help but fall in love with Kate and you will get sucked in by Josh. All the while, you are wondering how it is so obvious that Topher is head over heels in love with Kate, but nobody else notices, other than the woman in love w/ him! LOL. but, this is a fun movie that I will watch again, whenever I need to be reminded that there is true love out there. I hope I find the man who can give me all those sweet details!! Go rent it today :)

This is a really good movie! This movie is about Tad Hamilton a t.v star who has a contest in order for them to save his rep. Rosalee a grocery clerk at Piggly Wiggly enters the contest and wins. She has a date with Tad Hamilton. After the date is over Tad Hamilton comes back because he has a crush on Rosalee. Pete doesn't like this very much because he has been in love with Rosalee for a while. Will Rosalee end up with Pete or Tad? You have to go see this movie! It's really good!
P.S. I am not a kid- I don't have a Amazon login

I have lived in West Virginia my whole life, this is almost every girl's dream. I was excited to find out that parts of it were filmed in my home state. There's only one thing I don't like about the movie: there aren't any Piggly Wigglys in this state, I had never heard of them before this movie.

Rosalee, a grocery clerk in West Virginia, enters an Internet contest and wins a date with handsome movie star, Tad Hamilton. Tad falls hard for Rosalee and shows up in West Virginia in pursuit of her. This doesn't sit well with her friend, Pete, who's been secretly in love with Rosalee for years. When Tad wins a part in a new movie and wants Rosalee to be with him during filming, Pete needs to reveal his feelings or lose her forever.
This is a good, but at times weak, movie. The romance is the weak part, there's no real chemistry between Rosalee and Tad on their date, so it's hard to believe he'd follow her to West Virginia. And it's also hard to believe that Pete hasn't acted on his feelings for Rosalee in all the years he's known her. The comedy parts of the movie work much better, with some of the funniest scenes taking place at a farm Tad buys.
The actors are really what make this film work. Kate Bosworth, Topher Grace, and Josh Duhamel shine in the lead roles, especially Duhamel, who has the perfect good looks to play a movie star, which he does to perfection. The supporting actors are equally good, including Ginnifer Goodwin, Gary Cole, Nathan Lane, and Sean Hayes (in two roles). Kathryn Hahn is especially good as the bartender with a not so secret crush on Pete.
This is a good movie to watch when you're in the mood for a nice, sweet, light, romantic comedy.
