Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition)

When it comes to comic book movies, both "Superman" and "Batman" have led the way at being the most successful. However, in 2002 "Spider-Man" came out and dramatically evened out the playing field. Director Sam Raimi did a wonderful job of portraying Spider-Man on the big screen.
"Spider-Man" is about high school student Peter Parker(Maguire). He is a very shy student and is not respected well by fellow students. Ever since Peter was in elementary school he has had a crush on Mary Jane Watson (Dunst). One day while Peter was on a field trip in school, he was bit by a genetically modified spider. Thinking it was not a huge deal, Peter went on like nothing had happened. However, when he got home that day he felt sick. After sleeping for a very long time, he woke up and had the web-spinning abilities of spider-man. This changes Peter's life dramatically, and like his uncle said "with great power comes great responsibility".
Overall, "Spider-Man" ranks pretty close to "Batman" and "Superman" after this film came out.

I really enjoyed this widescreen movie plus great entertainment of action. I think it's well balanced story for many movie fans especially for spider-man fans,of course!

Too much violence, not enough story line. My Seven Year-Old Grandson won't be able to watch this until he is much older!

Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe star in Sam Raimi's
2002 action film. Bit by a super-genetic spider, A teen becomes
a hero and faces an evil enemy. I've always liked this film and
glad I got this special edition that has nice picture and sound
plus many cool extras. I highly recommend this great comic
book film.
